OttoWings
(hang gliders)

Send in your type, sort, category, flavor, model, version, ... of Otto Wing.   Much thanks for all those who have sent notes!

How many types of Otto Wings have you or yours made or flown--or "made and flown" ? What is your favorite Otto wing category? What pilot-hold type do you favor? What construction method do you enjoy? What do you like doing with your Otto wings? What are the motives for bringing Otto wings into your life?

What flavor would you like to build or fly? A replica of an 1860 hang glider might fit your interest; tell us about such Otto wing as that!  Perhaps a build with modern materials of a mod of an 1887 Beeson two-lobe pendulum-weight-shift-control with trapeze!  Maybe a build of one of the Lilienthal's 17 Otto wings using modern materials. Maybe an Otto wing that follows the Paresev wing and Breslau 1908 triangle control frame with you as then hanging from a short kiteline--hang loop--with a mod of a bit more sail area but the same foldability as the Paresev?  Hundreds of Otto-wing sorts and types have appeared over the last two hundred years in many scales from tiny models to huge wings carrying large payloads. In what sort of Otto wing do you find high interest? You may have fallen in deep like over one sort of Otto wing; be sure we have your choice and story or link.

Our start on a "sort" list herein.

In hang gliding culture people lift up various sorts of hang gliders (Otto wings).
What sort of Otto wing (hang glider) do YOU want added to the Otto-wing collection?  Descriptions, stories, images, drawings, notes, links, etc. are invited for sharing with the world.  Lore? History? Details? Plans?
